Salmon Burgers with Slaw

The salmon burgers that we have made are the yummiest! These salmon burgers are made from just five simple ingredients. This is the best option for a high-protein, quick, and easy lunch or dinner.

Thank you, Salmon, for the perfect golden color and crispy exteriors.

These are easy to prepare and (usually) require minimal or no grocery shopping if you have a well-stocked pantry. These crispy little pan-fried guys are my favorite.

As if salmon burgers were not good enough to eat by themselves (which they are), you need to make this slaw for your salmon burgers. The slaw is not fancy; it’s just shredded cabbage with yogurt, herbs, and garlic. But paired with salmon burgers, how can you go wrong? This crispy-salty, tangy combination is a winner.

Ingredients for These Salmon Burgers

This recipe is the pantry staple’s dream! What you will need is:

  • Salmon (canned or pre-cooked).
  • Eggs
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Spices
  • Lemon Juice
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Herbs

These salmon burgers are great with some fresh dill as the herb for a flavorful punch. You can also use freeze-dried Dill (which I keep in my spice cabinet all year) and any other fresh herbs! When I ran out of Dill, I used parsley and cilantro. They were still delicious. The recipe was still delicious.

Dill is still my top choice, but you can experiment with it a bit, just like with any of my other favorite recipes.

What is the best kind of Salmon?

Now for the big one. Do you use canned Salmon? Subtext: Is it gross?

Answer: I do use canned Salmon in my salmon burgers. And NO, the Salmon is not gross if you buy the right kind.

If canned Salmon doesn’t appeal to you, you can also use fresh Salmon you have already cooked (see our guide on how to cook Salmon). If you are willing to do some searching and spend a bit more for a higher-quality product, you can find canned Salmon that is not gross. Wild Planet cans of Salmon are my favorite. Wild Planet’s products are sustainable and prioritize the conservation of marine ecosystems. It was caught in Alaska. Superfan, not sponsored. You can buy it on Amazon. You can keep it in the pantry, and it will be ready to go whenever you want a salmon burger fix.

How to Make Salmon Burgers

What I love about this recipe is that it’s not just pantry-friendly but also omg-it’s-5 pm-and-I-need-dinner-now friendly. You’ll do this.

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients for your salmon burger. Form them into patties. ).
  2. In a hot skillet, sear each salmon patty until it is crispy and brown on both sides.
  3. Combine all the ingredients for your slaw in a large bowl.
  4. Serve delicious salmon burgers over a crunchy bed of slaw.

What else can I serve with these salmon burgers?

You can choose to add these on top for a high-protein, fresh lunch.
